Mozilla Firefox (Desktop and Android)

Desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux):
Firefox doesn’t fully support installing PWAs as standalone apps on the desktop. However, you can:
1. Open a PWA-enabled site.
2. Manually create a shortcut: right-click on your desktop → “New Shortcut” → paste the site URL → name it.
3. Some PWAs will work offline if the developer has enabled this feature.

Android:
1. Open a PWA site in Firefox.
2. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner → “Install” or “Add to Home screen.”
3. Confirm the installation, and the icon will appear on your home screen.

Microsoft Edge (Desktop and Windows)

1. Open a PWA-supported site.
2. A “+” icon will appear in the top-right of the address bar, or go to the menu (three dots) and select “Install this app.”
3. Click the icon or select the menu option.
4. Confirm the installation, and the PWA will appear as a standalone app in the Start menu or on your desktop.

Safari (iOS and macOS)

iOS (iPhone/iPad):
1. Open a PWA site in Safari.
2. Tap the “Share” button (square with an upward arrow) at the bottom of the screen.
3. Select “Add to Home Screen.”
4. Customize the app name and tap “Add.”
5. The icon will appear on your home screen.

macOS:
Safari on macOS doesn’t support installing PWAs as standalone apps. You can add the site to bookmarks or pin the tab for quick access.

Samsung Internet (Android)

1. Open a PWA-supported site.
2. A pop-up notification saying “Add to Home screen” will appear — tap it.
3. Alternatively, go to the menu (three lines) → “Add to Home screen.”
4. Confirm, and the app icon will appear on your home screen.

How to Check if a Site Supports the APP?

  • Step 1: Open the site in your browser.
  • Step 2: If an install icon or banner appears, the site supports PWA.
  • Step 3: You can also check in developer tools (F12 → “Application” tab in Chrome/Edge) for a Service Worker and Manifest file.
